The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation and its territorial bodies identified 4,353 violations of the advertising law in 2023. This is stated in the department’s message.

At the same time, almost a third (31%) were violations in advertising distributed over telecommunications networks without the consent of the subscriber.
More than 16% of violations were identified in financial services advertising.
False and misleading advertising accounted for 9% of all violations.
Ethics violations in advertising have become the rarest: their proportion is less than 2%.
In 2023, the service opened 3,383 cases for violation of advertising legislation. Based on the results of the examination of cases, 2,597 decisions imposing fines were issued. Also over the past year, the service issued 1,553 orders to stop violating the advertising law.
At the end of February, the FAS also reported almost 6 billion rubles in antitrust fines for 2023. The largest payer was Apple, with an amount of 906 million rubles.
