26% of Russian companies plan to implement artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to improve security and protect against data leaks in 2024, a study by Yandex Cloud and DRT on current security tools for companies showed.

At the same time, 50% of companies already use AI for these purposes, 9% do not plan to use it, and another 15% had difficulty responding.
Enterprises have increasingly started using machine learning models to protect cloud infrastructure and technologies for secure development, according to the study.
Thus, in 2023, more than half of Russian companies increased their budgets for the development of information security systems by an average of 20%. Companies invested the most in updating software and purchasing licenses for new information security services; this was reported by 75% of respondents.
AI algorithms are most often used to solve two problems: detecting anomalies in large volumes of data and managing incidents. Automation of information security processes through AI is most common in the financial sector: 71% of companies use it. Retail trade is in second place with a share of 14%.
More than 300 representatives of Russian companies participated in the study, including companies in the banking, retail and industrial sectors.
