This development marks a significant step towards the development of Boom’s planned Overture aircraft, which promises to significantly reduce travel times. Although supersonic speed could not be reached in the tests, the aircraft completed all its tasks, rose to an altitude of 2 km and reached a maximum speed of 440 km/h.

Using computer simulations, Boom engineers worked on “numerous designs” to achieve the “ideal balance between safe, stable takeoff and landing performance and efficient supersonic flight.”

The XB-1 has a lightweight and ultra-strong design thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber composite materials. This allows complex aerodynamic designs without sacrificing weight.

The tests did not end there, so we can only wait for the news.
