The head of Amazon’s cloud business will resign. Adam Selipsky has worked at Amazon since 2006, leading the introduction of the Nvidia GH200 chips and the launch of the Amazon Q chatbot.

Amazon Web Services CEO Adam Selipsky has announced his resignation from the company. His last day of work will be June 3, Amazon said in a statement.
Selipsky has worked at Amazon since 2006. Selipsky led sales, marketing and support at AWS for 11 years and then became director of Tableau. Selipsky became CEO of Amazon Web Services in 2020.
Selipsky will be replaced as CEO of AWS by Matt Garman, the company’s vice president of global sales, marketing and services.
At the end of the first quarter of 2024, Amazon’s cloud business accounted for 17% of corporate revenue and 62% of operating profit.
