Currently, analyzing medical records to find the necessary data takes a lot of time and requires the involvement of doctors. New technology will automate this process. During the study, scientists “taught” ChatGPT to analyze the records of more than 700 lung cancer patients. The chatbot determined the stage, subtype, and lymph node involvement of the cancer with 89% accuracy.
Similar results were obtained when analyzing data on children with osteosarcoma, the most common bone tumor. The accuracy of ChatGPT directly depends on what instructions are given to it. Scientists are confident that this technology will not only accelerate research but also help select patients for clinical trials.
