A few years have passed: MSI has announced a new version of its Titan laptop series. Back then, these gaming laptops could compete with gaming PCs just fine. What about the new variant?
The Titan series hasn’t been updated for years. However, the MSI Titan GT77 was officially announced at the MSIology event. This will be one of the most powerful gaming laptops of 2022; possibly even the strongest you can buy. Although the device is available in different configurations, of course, you can immediately turn to the most expensive model. What do you get in return?
Under the hood you will find the Intel Core i9-12900HX processor as well as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. These parts are accompanied by four slots where you can store up to 128GB of DDR5-4800 RAM. Combined, the laptop also uses MSI’s Overboost technology to deliver 250 watts of power.
Too much power for the MSI Titan GT77
The gigantic model only has one power supply, although the laptop has enough power. This speaks for its portability as opposed to the weight of the gaming laptop. The MSI GT77 weighs just over three kilos.
The keyboard is equipped with mechanical RGB and Cherry MX Ultra Low keys, while an RGB light bar is located on the back. There are also four slots for M.2 SSDs, the refresh rate of the screen is 120 Hertz and the resolution is 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. This applies to all models, regardless of the configuration you equip.
price and availability
At the time of this writing, the European prices of the MSI GT77 are not yet known. We’re also still waiting for the Dutch release date. This data is available for the US market and gives us some indication of what to expect.
The new Titan has a starting price of $3,199 (converted for just under 3,000 euros excluding VAT). You pay for that for the model you equip with the Core i7-12800HX, RTX 3070 Ti, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
If you choose the model that offers everything it has to offer, simply pay $4,949 or €4,630 (excluding VAT). MSI’s new Titan is now available for pre-order. In the meantime, we are still waiting for news from the Netherlands.
