Unity laid off 4% of its workforce and at least 200 people around the world lost their jobs.
Exact numbers are still unknown: The total number of Unity employees is not reported, although the March 2022 quarterly report notes that the software developer had 5,864 full-time employees. The Kotaku report estimates the number of layoffs at around 300 to 400 employees, with the AI and engineering departments being the hardest hit.
In a statement, a Unity spokesperson said: “As part of an ongoing planning process in which we regularly assess our resource levels against our business priorities, we have decided to reallocate some of our resources to better focus and support our long-term goals. increase.
