New Apple Intelligence AI features coming later in iOS 18 will initially be available to a limited number of users.
In the code of the first beta version of iOS 18, Apple Intelligence is codenamed Graymatter. There are several lines that say “Join the Graymatter Waitlist.”
There is also a section that lists Graymatter (Apple Intelligence) as a “limited preview category.”
While Greymatter is in limited preview, you may make arguments with unusually slow responses as long as the parties are not affected.
It is possible that the query list will only be used during testing of iOS 18. But it is also possible that access to Apple Intelligence will be limited after the release of the final version of iOS 18, so that the OpenAI server can handle a large number of users.
