Along with macOS Sequoia, Apple introduced Game Porting Toolkit 2, which brings a number of improvements and new features.

The main innovation is the ability to quickly port games from macOS to iOS 18. The SDK separates support for game controllers, audio, and graphics. For example, vibrations implemented for gamepads can be easily reproduced using the Haptic Engine on the iPhone using the same API.

Developers who port their games from Windows to Mac also have this option available, meaning any Windows game ported to macOS will be able to run seamlessly on iOS and iPadOS.

Game Porting Tool 2 is currently available in beta, with a full release expected this fall for all operating systems. [9to5]
