Thailand has made permanent the 60-day visa-free temporary entry for Russians. This is stated in the order of the local Ministry of Interior, which was approved by Prime Minister Setthoy Thavisin.

As stated in the document cited by Kommersant, visa-free entry for Russians into the country is being introduced for an indefinite period. In addition to holders of Russian passports, the measure applies to citizens of the United States, EU countries and China.

In the autumn of 2023, Thailand increased the visa-free period for tourists from the Russian Federation to 60 days. From November 2023 to April 30, 2024, the period was 90 days.

On Tuesday it became known that the Russian payment system Mir has started operating in some shopping centres and restaurants in Myanmar. In the future it is planned to expand the area of ​​acceptance of Russian cards.
