Microsoft has laid off all members of its Minority Representation, Equity, and Inclusion team, Business Insider reported.

It is not known how many people were laid off. The layoff ended on July 1, 2024.

Microsoft explained the decision as a shift in business needs. Inclusion work is no longer as important as it was in 2020, a Microsoft team leader said in a letter to employees.
