The company Aquarius is starting to produce servers that will run on Russian MIK32 Amur microcontrollers. This decision was made possible thanks to the purchase of a pilot batch of microcontrollers and the start of their testing. If the tests confirm the reliability of Amur, in the future the servers will completely use this component. Replacing a key element will require a new installation and testing, which will significantly complicate the transition process.
“Cupid” has already been adopted in next-generation server platforms and will be widely implemented in future server models. The exact details of the investment and its timing were not disclosed, but Amur microcontrollers are expected to help increase technological independence and localize production in Russia. The microcontrollers are actively supplied to 50 companies, including developers and manufacturers of computer equipment, indicating a growing interest in domestic components.
The use of Amur in server technology not only supports the ideas of localization and technological independence, but also contributes to the development of Russian electronics. At the same time, the introduction of domestic microcontrollers can lead to higher prices and possible problems if the components are used only for marketing purposes, and not for technical reasons. In general, the project can significantly advance Russian microelectronics and strengthen industrial cooperation in the country.
