The digital herbarium will be available thanks to a modern scanner with a resolution of over 500 dpi, provided by the Institute of the Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden. N. Avrorina of the Kola Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The press service noted that this scanner provides high color accuracy and detailed images of each specimen.
The herbarium collection covers 75 species of vascular plants of Kamchatka, from common to rare and protected. Each specimen will have a unique barcode for easy access and data management.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program.
