Packaging and appearance

The back of the case is reassuringly multilingual. And yes, going forward, that’s fine.

In addition to the camera itself, the kit also includes a 12v power supply for the camera, a couple of stickers, a manual and 3 screw plugs.

The total length of the power cable is about 5.5 m, which should be enough for any situation. Well, if it’s not enough, then I don’t see any problem with extending it.

Management is not just a bugger with a clip in the middle. Here is a miniature multilingual book with a glued-on spine (which is extremely rare due to the dramatically higher cost).

How Arenti Outdoor 1 shoots

To be fair, it does not contain any information that is missing from the app. Last thing exclusively clear and convenient. But, it is clear that the manual should be included and it is.

Well, here is the camera itself. Arenti Outdoor1 stands out from almost all other outdoor surveillance cameras I’ve seen. They look like a white plastic blister, differing from each other within this standard.

Not that looks matter for this type of device, but I’m sure anyone would prefer a good design to a bad one.

The workmanship is at a good level. No kickback, no creaking. There are no gaps, casting defects, paint, no sign of low cost and bending.

The camera has an IP65 waterproof standard, which is enough for any downpour. The power cord outlet is securely closed, as is the cover that hides the Micro-SD slot and the factory reset button.

In the same place, in fact, a perforation is visible above the speaker.

By the way, the manufacturer includes quite decent memory cards in the kit. This is what happened in my case.

There are outdoor surveillance cameras that can rotate. Arenti Outdoor1 is not one of them. All of its mobility is limited by the hinged knee and the ability to rotate around its axis. Personally, this was enough for me. Set it up once and you’re good to go. A viewing angle of 100 degrees is sufficient.

The front panel of the camera looks very thoroughbred. I really like the manufacturer’s idea of ​​​​combining a smooth mirror coating and an oval array of TIR lenses, behind which the LEDs are hidden.

That’s all for this part. I have no reason to criticize.

Control

Everything related to management is worth seeing in the review. Arenti Dome1where I painted in detail what is there and what is not.

The main thing is that the management here is very good. Finally visual and easy to use. Russification is excellent, there are almost no errors.

Below is the difference between the camera control of Laxihun Arenti Outdoor 1 and Dome1:

• Missing (unsurprisingly) is a camera rotation setting. She doesn’t move.

• But there is an IR illumination switch. It can shoot in black and white, it can shoot constantly in color (LED backlight is on), it can do a hybrid backlight when the camera shoots in black and white, but it turns on the backlight when it detects motion.

• There is also an alarm mode. When the sensor is triggered, the camera can selectively turn on the siren and/or flash the white LEDs.

I did not like:

• It is not possible to set motion detection sound yet. I hope the manufacturer takes this into account when updating the app.

• When setting noise recording, the camera should output 3 different levels of alarm signal, the threshold is set according to them. The camera does not make any sound. But the noise log itself is there, checked.

How the Arenti Outdoor1 Wi-Fi road surveillance camera shoots

As with Dome1, I didn’t notice any difference between HD and UHD. The reasons are obvious: not always the camera will be able to transmit real 2k online. But very heavily compressed 1080 – completely.

As a result, shooting at 1080 with some smartphone or action camera will be very different for the better. However, here you have to make out the person’s face and see what exactly is going on, the camera manages quite well.

Dynamic range development is decent. Here in the photo the car is brightly lit, but the shadow across the house has not turned into a black stripe.

Of course, at night, when the lighting softens, the image improves.

But this applies specifically to the uniformity of light shadows. The camera solves the lack of light very well, but you have to pay for this with motion artifacts. Pay attention to the time the video was taken. 21-30 – the sun has set and in fact it is already far, far from the light. In camera, the image is very bright compared to reality.

As for the detail, in the photo the facial features are already lost from 7-10 meters.

But in the video they are better distinguished than in the photo.

Night shot. B&W is fine. IR illumination is working.

In the dark and with backlight, the camera shoots well.

worth mentioning

a) The backlight will give you the opportunity to see what is happening in color, but up close it will simply overlight the faces of those standing next to the camera, the backlight will justify itself at a distance of 3-7 meters from the Chamber. And at night, a moving object is surrounded by compression artifacts that blur the image.

b) The change from black and white to color is not instantaneous, somewhere a second of the recording is dropped. During this time, one person will walk towards the camera. Therefore, you should set the alarm activation zone further away so that the person does not have time to disappear from sight during the change.

c) The photo is less detailed. It feels like it’s just a still frame from a video.

In short, both night shooting modes are working, but you will choose whether to shoot in color and/or black and white, depending on the situation. The wolf took the rabbits!

general impressions

Just like the other Arenti camera, specifically the Arenti Dome1 for home video surveillance, the Outdoor 1 definitely made a good impression on me.

It looks great, though I doubt it’s a must have for a street camera. It has a convenient and intuitive control with a bunch of all kinds of gadgets, necessary and not. The camera writes to a memory card and to the cloud (3 months free, then a symbolic price), if there is no card, immediately to the cloud.

This fi-wi outdoor camera has a good recording quality, both day and night. It sends messages, it is activated by movement (during the day it only reacts to people, at night it can also work with animals), it transmits the sound through the speaker. You can set blind zones where the sensor will not work. For example, direct it to the door at the person’s level and set the motion sensor to work only there. So no living creature will force the camera to work at night. And here, alas, I repeat, at night shooting, sometimes my korzhikha forced the camera to send messages about the movement. There is also a workaround, you can set the threshold to trigger the sensor to the minimum, but it will only work when you get close.

There are drawbacks, but they are not critical:

• can’t set alert sound and threshold for noise sensor

• The speaker is fairly quiet in streaming audio mode. at night in the silence of the norms, but during the day with ambient noise it is quiet.

The manufacturer is in touch, brought his thoughts to you and promised to take them into account.
