Commander Jared Isaacman and mission specialist Sarah Gillis successfully completed this step, becoming the first space tourists to travel into space.
The exit occurred when the ship was 460 miles (740 km) above the Indian Ocean. After depressurizing the ship and preparing space suits, Isaacman was the first to leave the ship, spending about 10 minutes in space, followed by Gillis.
This event was a major breakthrough in commercial space exploration, where previously such operations had only been carried out by professional astronauts.
Additionally, Polaris Dawn set a new record by lifting Crew Dragon to an altitude of 1,400.7 km, making it the highest orbit for crewed flights excluding the lunar missions of the Apollo program.
