Sberbank has launched payment with a “smile” by card of any bank. At the same time, refunds and other privileges provided by an external bank will be maintained, the press service of the credit institution reported.

To use the service, you must link your card to the “Pay with a smile” service in the Sberbank Online application.
Sberbank also announced that it plans to launch interbank “bioacquisition” in December 2024.
“After launch, ‘Pay with a Smile’ will be available to clients of any bank that issues cards accepted in Russia,” Sberbank noted.
Sberbank introduced payment using biometric data in August 2023. According to the organization’s own data, it has already installed more than 750 thousand biometric terminals and by the end of 2024 their number will increase to 1 million.
Previously, the director of the Biometric division of Sberbank, Oleg Evseev, spoke about the bank’s plans to start payment for alcohol and cigarettes using biometric data instead of a passport.
