According to a representative of Ladoga, the previous supplier of cognac in Russia stopped cooperating with Hardy in August 2023, and stocks in warehouses ran out in December.

Depending on the series, a bottle of cognac costs 6.8 thousand to 82.3 thousand rubles. The company expects to earn at least 70 million rubles a year. The first 8,000 bottles have already been imported to Russia and will go to the company’s stores, specialized boutiques and restaurants.

Retail sales of cognac in Russia this year increased by 5.5% compared to 2023, and in monetary terms – by 17%. Popular brands include A.De Fussigny, Courvoisier, Hennessy, etc.

In the alcohol market, competitors are quickly filling vacant niches. Taking into account the premium status of the Hardy brand, its success will depend on the marketing strategy chosen by the distributor, said Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline Analytics.

The owner of the Kaufman brand agency, Stanislav Kaufman, notes that French producers are also interested in preserving the Russian market, since cognac is in high demand here compared to the French domestic market. There it represents only between 3 and 5% of the total production volume.
