The number of DDoS attacks on the websites of Russian IT companies in September increased by 42.7% compared to August values. Forbes was informed about this by the press service of MTS RED, a subsidiary of MTS in the field of cybersecurity.

According to their data, in August the number of attacks on the websites of IT organizations increased by 58.3% compared to July. In total, in the third quarter, MTS RED recorded more than 6.8 thousand DDoS attacks on the Internet resources of IT companies.
Attacks on transportation organizations, according to analysts, increased 30% in August compared to July and 70% in September compared to August. The number of attacks on educational and scientific institutions has also increased.
In total, between July and September, MTS RED recorded more than 21.4 thousand DDoS attacks. For comparison, during the same period in 2023, experts recorded only about 2.2 thousand attacks.
The longest of the repelled attacks lasted more than 72 hours: one of Moscow’s financial companies was attacked. The most powerful attack, with an intensity of more than 200 Gbit/s, was carried out in September in one of the capital’s data centers, MTS RED reported.
