The patent shows several contact pins in the middle of the phone serving as ports, possibly with a magnetic attachment. Another interesting feature is that the upper half of the device can be rotated.
While this is still just a concept, the potential use cases look exciting. Users can switch to the second half if the battery dies first, or use only part of the phone for “compactness”.
However, it is unclear whether this technology will become a reality.
