Scientists from Perm Polytechnic University have presented a new method for calculating the technical condition index (TCI) of equipment, which promises to increase the accuracy and reliability of assessing its condition. Today in Russia, methods based on expert assessments are used to determine ITS, which can lead to errors in determining the remaining resource. The new development is based on a functional design model and statistical data that will reduce the risk of premature equipment failure.
Current methods for assessing the condition of equipment depend on the opinions of experts, which creates the possibility of subjectivity. Scientists from Perm Polytechnic University decided to change this approach and proposed a new method using objective features. They calculate the ITS in stages, first determining the state of key nodes and then calculating the overall state of the device based on its parameters. This method takes into account the design and statistical characteristics of the equipment.
In practice, the new index varies between 100 and 0 percent; 100 means the equipment is fully operational, 0 means it is unusable. When testing the model based on data on turbojet engine parameters, the new method gave more accurate results than the Department of Energy’s traditional model. According to Rustam Faizrakhmanov, head of the PNRPU information technology department, the new technique allows you to receive information about the need for maintenance 6-10% earlier, which helps avoid downtime and downtime in production.
