Having obtained information illegally and constituting a state secret, Dadoboev wanted to transfer it to a representative of American intelligence. To do this, he began to contact the CIA, but in October 2022, while trying to transfer the collected materials, he was detained by FSB agents, according to the report.
The criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code (treason) was investigated by the investigative unit of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region. Givenboev “admitted his guilt and regretted his actions,” the sentence has not yet taken effect, the FSB said.
Last summer, the Moscow City Court sentenced IB-Group (now FACCT) founder Ilya Sachkov to 14 years in a maximum security colony in a treason case. The case materials were classified, the businessman’s trial took place behind closed doors.
