VK will begin to pre-install its own multimedia services in the multimedia systems of foreign cars. This was reported to RB.RU by the company’s press service.

The first services that will appear in car multimedia systems will be “VK Video”, “VK Music” and “VK Messenger”, and in the future it is planned to introduce “Zen”. A source close to the RB.RU holding stated that the company is negotiating with 10 large car manufacturers (their names are not revealed), but is ready to cooperate with all car manufacturers represented on the Russian market.
“VK expects that by the end of next year its services will be pre-installed on one in ten Chinese cars sold through official dealers,” noted the interlocutor of RB.RU. According to him, the holding company is currently testing the services on Exeed RX and VX machines.
The holding company decided to start developing services for automotive systems after Yandex, which introduced the Yandex Auto platform in 2017. At the same time, VK wants to offer separate services to automakers without creating its own multimedia platform, they noted.
In addition, Open Mobile Platform, a subsidiary of Rostelecom, is developing an automotive operating system based on Aurora OS.
