LG unveiled a new generation of flexible displays at its science park in Seoul.

The standard screen size is 12 inches, but it can be stretched up to 16 inches. That is, the length increases by 50%. In the first generation, shown 2 years ago, this figure was 20%.

The “stretchability and flexibility guarantee” takes into account the new design of wires and microdiodes with wavelengths up to 40 micrometers. The maximum limit for increasing strength is up to 10 thousand stretches.

The new product can easily stick to curved surfaces. It is expected to be used in cars, wearable devices and fashion. [LG]
