The project includes both new and ongoing construction work at various sites around the world. These efforts will require significant investment: The company’s capital expenditures in 2025 are estimated to be between $34 billion and $38 billion, surpassing the 2022 record of $36.29 billion.

Most of the facilities will be located in Taiwan, where TSMC plans to build seven new factories. These include two manufacturing centers for 2nm chips, as well as several facilities for advanced semiconductor packaging.

The company is also actively expanding its presence abroad. A second factory is planned to be built as a continuation of the project in Kumamoto in Japan, Arizona in the USA, and a new factory in Dresden in Germany.

TSMC has already said that the expansion will help meet the growing demand for semiconductors and meet customer needs both domestically and abroad.
