Apple will have to implement language models developed by Chinese technologies into Apple Intelligence, the Financial Times reports. This is the easiest way for a company to launch Apple Intelligence in China as quickly as possible.
If Apple decides to use its own language model, it will have to go through steps and complex testing that no foreign company has yet managed.
Apple has been in talks with Chinese tech companies for months to integrate its technology into Apple Intelligence. Discussions about the state were held with Baidu, ByteDance and Moonshot. The latter was developed by the popular Chinese chatbot Kimi AI. Analysts believe that, ideally, Apple Intelligence could launch in China in the second hemisphere of 2025.
