French company Polysoft has made its own SSDs for Mac Studio and plans to release them in January 2025.
Studio Drive modules are available in several sizes: 2, 4 and 8 TB. Prices:
• 2 TB: 399 euros.
• 4 TB: 799 euros.
• 8 TB: 1099 euros.
This is about 2 times less than what Apple offers to improve storage capacity.
It is noted that these solid-state drives have a proprietary RIROP (Rossmann Is Right Overvoltage Protection) function, designed to prevent data loss due to possible failures of voltage regulators. The company encountered this problem when repairing some MacBook Pro models.
