According to them, 99% of the new company belongs to Tekhnoyak LLC and the remaining 1% to Intersearch Solutions LLC. Both organizations are subsidiaries of MKPAO Yandex.
The Yandex press service informed Interfax that delivery using robots is “one of the key priorities” of the IT company. “The active growth of the area required the separation of operational activities into a separate legal entity. This will allow us to expand our business more efficiently, develop a network of distributors and simplify interaction with partners,” explained a Yandex representative.
The company has been developing delivery using robotic couriers since 2019. Yandex rovers deliver orders from more than 500 stores and restaurants, including the chains Perekrestok, Azbuka Vkusa, Vkusno – point, Rostic’s, Burger King, Teremok and Shokoladnitsa.
In May, a Yandex representative told Kommersant that the company operates 130 robots and plans to launch the same number by the end of 2024. According to him, to start mass production it is necessary to gather the necessary economic factors. “When the cost of delivery by robot is comparable to that of delivery by courier, we will be ready to expand the business,” they indicated in the press service.
