Each of the enterprises will be able to process up to 50 thousand tons of hazardous waste per year. To ensure safety and environmental protection, factories implement multi-level environmental monitoring systems. The technological solutions used were developed by domestic experts and comply with international environmental safety standards.
According to Rosatom Deputy General Director Andrey Nikipelov, these facilities will solve an important environmental problem in the safe and efficient management of industrial waste. The operation of the complexes is based on the principle of circular economy, in which secondary raw materials can be extracted from recycled waste and returned to economic circulation.
Currently, Rosatom plans to create seven similar complexes that will dispose of complex industrial waste. Thus, these initiatives will not only help clean up nature, but will also significantly reduce the environmental burden by promoting the reuse of valuable materials in industry.
