About 1.6 thousand villages in Russia will have access to high-speed mobile Internet in 2025. This is stated by the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Digital Development.

The agency summarized the results of the vote on connecting settlements to the Internet, which took place from August 5 to November 17, 2024. More than 717 thousand people participated in it through the “State Services” and by mail.
The majority of votes went to the villages of Lipniki in the Krasnodar Territory and Yunkyur in Yakutia, as well as the villages of Cheporovo in the Yaroslavl region, Stolbishchi in the Yaroslavl region and Chernevo in the Vologda region. The regions with the highest voter turnout were Bashkiria, the Yaroslavl region, Yakutia, the Vologda region and the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Since 2021, there has been a vote to connect small settlements to the Internet. During this time, communications appeared in more than 5.5 thousand towns and villages. The vote will be held again in 2025. By 2030, the Ministry of Digital Development committed to providing communications in all settlements with a population between 100 and 500 people.
Previously, in November, Roskomnadzor commented on reports about exercises to “disconnect” certain regions of Russia from the foreign Internet. The department reported that “verification of the readiness of key systems to ensure the sustainability of the Russian Internet segment” is carried out every year.
