Scientists used impact-resistant polystyrene with an internal cellular structure, covered with copper foil. This combination of cellular geometry and conductive layer expands the operating frequency band and accelerates data transfer. At the same time, production turned out to be about five times cheaper than traditional methods.

Scientists plan to adapt the method to mass production.

Work on the prototype was demonstrated at an international conference in Tbilisi in 2024.
