Netflix plans to create a new subscription plan. The method will be cheaper than current offers in Brazil starting at R$25.90 but with ads included.

The information was confirmed by the platform’s co-founder and CEO, Reed Hastings, during the company’s financial report. this dropped 200,000 subscribers and brought prudence among investors.

According to the CEO, in the next two years, Netflix should refine the details of a cheaper plan for its subscribers, with ads in the middle of TV shows and movies.

The new plans are considered exciting by some of the company’s executives and will be considered “for the next year or two.”

Although it seems like a response to the market’s reaction to yesterday’s balance sheet, Netflix has been testing ads between episodes of the same series since August 2021.

At that time, ads were shown in full screen just before a new attraction started, were driven by the user’s taste, and contained only content from the company’s catalog without external advertising.

Testing is still done with a few users around the world, as A/B testing is scheduled to see the efficiency of the offer.
