Yandex asked AvtoVAZ, the Belarusian company Unison, the Chinese automakers BAIC Group and Chery to supply cars for Taxi. The company needs 50,000 cars a year to renew its fleet, but the market is experiencing a shortage of cars and spare parts for them.
Yandex offers automakers to arrange the supply of cars to leasing companies under the guarantee of their use in taxi companies, Forbes has learned.
The company itself intends to act as an intermediary between the taxi fleets and the automobile company: Yandex guarantees the demand of manufacturers for large batches of cars and taxi fleets – the availability of cars from leasing companies to renew the fleet . After the end of the lease, it is the taxi companies that receive the cars on their property.
