The company talks about new media read permissions on devices for images, photos, videos and audio files that bring more specific requests.
These changes should be updated by the developers in their applications. Now, for example, applications will be able to ask the user for permission to access image and video files at the same time. Also for users, Android 13 will allow certain files to be selected to be accessed by apps – something that has popped up before.
Google also discussed new APIs for playing audio on external devices, as well as improvements from developers in encryption key implementations that use Keystore and KeyMint indexes.
When will the final version of Android 13 be?
The company also stated that Android’s first beta will allow the community to test apps, increasing the chance of feedback for fixes before the platform’s final release.
The Android 13 update schedule estimates platform stability between June and July. The final release of the update is scheduled for mid-August, but the company also commented that it will bring news during this year’s Google I/O. The event will take place from May 11-12.
