During its Search On event this Wednesday (28), Google announced several new features for its search engine, including keyword suggestion in search. In addition, the user will be able to see the results with relevant information before they finish typing.
For example, if a restaurant is searched, previews will be shown with details about opening times, rating and address of the place.
Google Search also shows topics in question format searches. For someone searching for the term “best place in Mexico”, the service will have options to complete the sentence, for example “for family”, “live in” or “travel on vacation”.
In the same case, a search for tourist attractions will show web stories, information from Wikipedia, temperature, travel time and many other details in the search result.
“Whatever the format of the information, whether it’s text, images or video, you’ll see the most relevant content from multiple sources. And as you keep scrolling, you will see a new way to be inspired by topics relevant to your research.”
The news on the world’s most popular search engine will be published in the coming months without a specific date.
Search by photos and more
Google also announced that Multisearch, a Lens feature that allows simultaneous image and text search, will reach over 70 languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, in the coming months.
Also, “multi-search near me” is starting to roll out in English in the US, which lets you take a photo of something and find out where it’s sold (be it food or a product) near you. end of 2022.
Starting today, iOS mobile users will receive several different icons when using the Google app. New shortcuts offer options for people to buy a product directly from a photo they’ve taken, translate some text from a picture, get a response to a homework assignment, or even describe a song, for example.
According to Google, the idea behind all these innovations is to make the search action “more natural and intuitive.”
