The Mir payment system has reduced the commission for accepting cards for large ecosystems

It is noted that such measures may lead to a reduction in the loyalty programs of credit institutions.

The interbank commission is included in the general fee for accepting cards, which banks charge in stores. The amount of such commission is set by the payment systems.

The Mira program for large ecosystems provides for a reduced rate on the interbank commission if the buyer uses the Mir card when paying. Its size varies from 0.5% to 1.1% depending on the turnover of the company.

As one of the publication’s sources explained, for a rate of 1.1%, you need to have a quarterly turnover of 30 billion rubles.

Previously, the United States imposed sanctions on Vladimir Komlev, CEO of Russia’s National Payment Card System. US authorities have warned of consequences for organizations that continue to support Mir cards outside the Russian Federation.

Later, banks in various countries began to refuse to service the cards of the Russian payment system. Among them are credit organizations from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
