While hundreds of apps that promise to use ChatGPT resources are already available in virtual stores, OpenAI’s AI chatbot prototype still only available in free version, but a paid version may be on the way. On Saturday (21), several users of an experimental program took to their social media to announce the vehicle’s “Upgrade Plan” option.

For those “chosen ones,” the plan upgrade option available in the ChatGPT web interface prompts a prompt with two available plans. One of them – It’s called the Professional Plan — Provides subscribers with 100% AI capabilities and provides faster and unlimited response.

The new update option, which is not yet visible to all users, is located in the left-hand floating menu. According to AI project developer Zahid Khawaja, not only did you sign up for the premium plan, as it already works on the turbocharged version on desktop and mobile apps.

How much will the premium version of ChatGPT cost?

OpenAI has yet to release pricing, although it has shared a waiting list for the Pro tier on its Discord channel. But users claim paying US$42 (R$218) for a monthly feesome, like Zahid, even attached the receipt as proof.

As expected, many people complained and if it was confirmed, this subscription price is too “salty”, but everything will naturally depend on the cost-benefit ratio. For a subscriber who uses the tool to speed up their day-to-day work, $42 can be a great investment, while a casual user might opt for the free version.

In a tweet published in December, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman explained that the company “will have to monetize the system at some point”. And he came to this conclusion: “Computer costs are staggering”.
