WhatsApp has introduced a major update to its messenger.
Today’s update is completely based on statuses. They lengthen over 24 hours and accumulate photos, videos, GIFs, text and more.
So what’s new?
1. Voice statuses
Now it is possible to record voice messages for 30 seconds and groups in whatsapp status. This format is suitable for publishing individual news.
2. Choosing ads to display personal content
Three options to choose from: “my contacts”, “contacts except” and “share with”. The last audience you set was saved and used as the default on a subsequent status update.
3. Profile ring status on update
By this ring, you can understand if the opponents have new statuses. You can see such rings in the list of chats and group members, as well as in contact details.
4. Link preview in status
Now, when you post links in the status, you will automatically be shown a preview of the page it links to. By analogy, it works in message functions.
The update for WhatsApp has already been launched worldwide. It will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
5. Reactions to status
You can now add emoji reactions to people’s statuses. To instantly check your status, swipe up and tap one of the eight emojis.
However, you can still send by sending a sticker, text or voice message, and more.
