Vladimir Kozhevnikov, Deputy General Manager of Energia Rocket and Space Corporation and Chief Designer of ROS, shared details about the project. According to him, the first module will be released at the end of 2027.

Then we should expect to send four more modules to orbit between 2028 and 2030. Kozhevnikov added that the launch of ROS will be determined by the results of the conceptual design, which will be completed in 2023.

An important feature of the station should be modularity. It will allow replacing old modules, which will make ROS “potentially forever”.

It is reported that the preliminary cost of creating a Russian orbital station is already known. This was said by Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
