The authors of the YouTube channel TheSpyHood tested the two builds on several modern games. These are the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RX 6900 XT and 4400MHz DDR4 as well as Core i7 12700K, RTX 3080 and 5200MHz DDR5. Which is better for gaming at 1440p and 4K with the ultra preset?
Average FPS at 1440p in Spider-Man Remastered was 169fps (with Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RX 6900 XT and 4400MHz DDR4) and 177fps – 117fps and 123fps in 4K, respectively.
Call of Duty Vanguard ran at 1440p with an average of 177fps (Ryzen 7 5800X3D + RX 6900 XT+ 4400MHz DDR4) and 174fps (Core i7 12700K + RTX 3080 + 5200MHz DDR5). In 4K these figures were 115 fps and 114 fps.
God of War ran at 1440p with an average performance of 107 fps and 114 fps (Ryzen 7 5800X3D + RX 6900 XT + 4400MHz DDR4 and Core i7 12700K + RTX 3080 + 5200MHz DDR5, respectively), in 4K these figures were 75 fps and 80 fps .
Battlefield 2042 averaged 123 fps at 1440p (Ryzen 7 5800X3D + RX 6900 XT+ 4400MHz DDR4) and 118 fps (Core i7 12700K + RTX 3080 + 5200MHz DDR5) at 4K – between 89 and 86 fps/sec, respectively.
In Forza Horizon 5 we managed to get 136fps and 132fps on average at 1440p (Ryzen 7 5800X3D + RX 6900 XT + 4400MHz DDR4 and Core i7 12700K + RTX 3080 + 5200MHz DDR5), 4K – 93fps and 89k. / S.
Far Cry 6 averaged 130 fps (R7 + RX 6900 XT + DDR4) and 119 fps (i7 + RTX 3080 + DDR5) at 1440p, 87 fps and 81 fps at 4K, respectively.
Village Resident Evil was released at 1440p with an average of 188 fps and 194 fps (R7 + RX 6900 XT + DDR4 and i7 + RTX 3080 + DDR5, respectively), in 4K resolution – 121 fps and 126 fps.
On Horizon Zero Dawn we managed to get an average of 130fps at 1440p (Ryzen 7 5800X3D + RX 6900 XT + 4400MHz DDR4) and 84fps at 4K and 134fps at 87 (Core i7 12700K + RTX 3080 + 5200MHz DDR5). fps
Days Gone ran at 1440p with an average of 151 fps (R7 + RX 6900 XT + DDR4) and 156 fps (i7 + RTX 3080 + DDR5) FPS at 4K – 93 fps and 96 fps.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ran at 1440p with an average of 116 fps (with R7, RX 6900 XT and DDR4) and 105 fps (with i7, RTX 3080 and DDR5), at 4K resolution – 79 fps and 72k /With.
In Cyberpunk 2077 we managed to get 99 and 107 fps on average at 1440p (with R7 + RX 6900 XT + DDR4 and i7 + RTX 3080 + DDR5 respectively), 4K – 71 fps and 74 fps.
Generally in terms of power consumption it is better to choose a mount with i7 + RTX 3080 + DDR5.
On average, the Core i7-12700K + RTX 3080 + 5200MHz DDR5 configuration showed the best results in the games tested. While they didn’t differ much in speed: the average FPS at 1440p was 139 fps in both configurations, while mounting with i7 at 4K was 0.5% faster than the R7 + RX 6900 XT + DDR4 (93 fps and 93.5 fps).
