The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia plans to introduce a point assessment of the level of “home” telecommunication equipment. The draft amendments to the government decree will be published after discussion with the industry. The rules will go into effect in September 2023.
To be included in the list of Russian equipment, you must meet certain criteria: for example, owning the rights to product design documentation and the source code of system software, having service centers for maintenance, your own site of production, etc. Kommersant reported.
Points will be awarded for each technological operation in production. When a sufficient amount is accumulated, the team is recognized as domestic. Switches, routers, radar equipment, decoders, etc. they fall under him.
Now, the decision on whether the telecommunications equipment is considered domestic or not is taken by a council of experts from the ministry. According to the publication’s source, they were planning to change the rules starting in 2021.
