Sonic the Hedgehog’s co-author admitted to violating Japanese financial laws. Before their collaboration with Square Enix on Dragon Quest Tact became known, Aiming bought a stake in the game studio. Naka admitted that he made a profit of more than 20 million yen (about 11,100,887 rubles) after selling his investments.

Two other former Square Enix employees were also arrested for buying shares of Aiming using insider information. Square Enix says it’s collaborating with investigators and establishing a system to prevent insider trading
