Tesla was disappointed by not showing any new products at Investor Day this year. But an image of an ongoing project may reveal what the future of charging the automaker’s electric vehicles will look like.

In the Tesla restaurant project slideshow, the image revealed a new wireless charging station. A parked car with a pad attached to a device on the wall with a wire behind it indicates that the automaker is developing or at least considering the technology.

In recent years, many companies have been working on wireless charging for electric vehicle batteries, but it has never been successful due to the technology’s limited efficiency and high cost. Documents released last year show that Tesla’s charging stations will cost one-fifth the cost of its rivals’ charging services.

Last month, Tesla announced that it would offer 7,500 electrically powered refueling stations for other automakers’ cars. This will allow the automaker to raise approximately $7.5 billion in funding from the US government to expand its infrastructure.

The idea to offer a retro experience combined with Tesla’s Superchargers was proposed by Elon Musk in 2018. Since then, the company has applied for patents with three brand designs for an establishment offering “joint restaurant services, pop-up, and take-out.” outside”.

The venture draws inspiration from 1950s American restaurants and should also have a drive-in movie theater. The company has applied for a Santa Monica restaurant project that includes 28 superchargers, two movie theaters, and a rock-themed restaurant.
