Based on a verified source, MacRumors has stated that Apple will be cutting support for iOS 17 this year.

According to an insider, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 are incompatible with most substances produced on the A11 Bionic chip or earlier. Have support will lose:

• iPhone 8
• iPhone 8 Plus
• iPhone X
• 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch first generation iPad Pro
• iPad fifth generation

The only choices will be the sixth and seventh generation iPads with the A10 Fusion chip and the second generation iPad Pro with the A10X Fusion chip.
