Judge orders Yobidoyobi chain to change its name

The Federal Tax Service insisted that the “Yobidoyobi” trademark “consistent with obscene words that have obscene content, and is also contrary to public interests and moral principles.”

The company itself pointed out that its name is a transliteration of the phrase “The day of the week is Saturday” in Japanese, but it did not provide evidence to the court.

The court ordered “Yobidoyobi” to change its company name, make changes to the constituent documents within three months from the date of entry into force of the decision.

Previously, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) also had claims about the sushi delivery network. In October 2021, OFAS acknowledged that the institution’s advertising was inappropriate.
