Google recently released an update for its Bard chatbot, which aims to help software developers code and debug their projects. A new tool in response to user requests Can build, debug, and annotate 20+ programming languages such as C++, Go, Java, Javascript, Python, and TypeScript.
Artificial intelligence (AI) can help users review and debug source code line by line. This feature also translates code from one programming language to another and teaches you how to explain code snippets, making it a useful resource for novice programmers.
However, Google warns that the feature is still experimental. This means that Bard can provide false information and all AI work needs to be reviewed before being implemented in practice.
Unlike OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Bard allows users to export Python code to Google Colab and write functions into Google Sheets, making it a convenient and practical option for software developers using these tools.
Transition to new technology
Confirmed by Google CEO Sundar Pichai on the “Hard Fork” podcast New York TimesBard will soon transition from the current Model Language Model (LaMDA) based model for Dialogue Applications to the larger-scale Path Language Model (PaLM).
Google showed the difference between the two models by training LaMDA with 137 billion parameters and PaLM with about 540 billion parameters. While PaLM has more capabilities, Pichai stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and quality of Bard before launching a more capable model.
