Tochka, a bank for entrepreneurs, has launched foreign exchange transactions in Georgian lari, a source at the credit institution told RB.RU.

Tochka launched foreign exchange operations in Georgian lari

The bank explained this step as a desire to simplify interaction with Georgia counterparties for clients. Payments can be made to any bank in the country.

The service is available to foreign currency account holders at Tochka. The transfer rate will depend on the tariff.

Last year, the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Georgia increased by 52%. Today the country is one of Russia’s main trading partners.

Furthermore, Georgia has become one of the most popular relocation destinations among Russians.

Following the announcement of partial mobilization in the Russian Federation, more than 700,000 Russian citizens crossed the border into Georgia. Such data was provided by the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili.

In February, a resolution was submitted to the Georgian parliament to reduce the visa-free stay of Russians in the country. Opposition party MPs spoke out against “uncontrolled migration.”
