The 32nd Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy: Part 3, has been released worldwide.
James Gunn, who directed the last 2 films, is back in the director’s chair. This is the latest film for the studio and the last, old, old, old for its Guardians franchise.
We have just finished watching the novelty and tell if the galactic maestro was able to reach the trilogy. Spoiler alert: yes, this is an incredible movie, not exactly chosen for Marvel.
An epic end to Avengers: Endgame
In fact, the original source is still unreproducible character – Rocket. The whole history revolves around him, he is the engine in this Universe.
What is the movie about: the Rocket developer was able to find and wants to get hidden in the mind. They will create a new civilization in which there will be no resistance and no weak race. But beyond the limit, it would be natural, with good intentions, lies an essence that can destroy the whole world.
The case of this Peter Quill can never come to terms with the loss of Gamora and now, together with the Guardians of the Galaxy, they are sent on another mission to protect the universe.
We have long been prepared for the fact that the history of the Guardians ends sooner or later. But how it is Economic is a completely different question.
The director, that in order to achieve the completion of the story And for this salvation, the ground is still in Avengers: Endgame, returning the alternative Gamora to the screen (I remind you that her version from the original universe died in Infinity War).
And now this moment has come. The team is back in full force, which was hinted at earlier, showing us the first frames from the film. Now the director is ready for the epic finale.
There is even a cameo with Sylvester Stallone, but just a couple of minutes
James Gunn has long been known for his love of rogue heroes. But in the end they rallied and became a single array. The same thing happens in Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn Specialists in the role of a certain caring parent, not the most well-mannered children came home. But it seems from film to film that you can get a beautiful swan from an ugly duckling.
In the new part, the director decided to take the theme of the loss of a loved one as a basis. And during the process constantly presses on emotions, although it periodically dilutes the human psyche with mischievous humor. What I personally have always liked in the work of Gunn is the sense of style and the knowledge of justice. He knows where, how, what and when to place, what accents to highlight and what emotions to deliver at one time or another.
And in this game, he skillfully plays on feelings. At the same time, he has two difficult tasks at once: once the special manifestations and say goodbye to his characters.
Unlike the soulless “Black Widow”, here the authors treated the original source and this equipment of all animals with the utmost respect, therefore they treated each of them separately with total care.
If in the first picture we could watch the characters with a gradual delay, then with each new film they were revealed a little more, helping to focus on their inner demons. The biggest mystery for us is set by Rocket, because he never revolved about how he got like that.
Gunn decided that this moment had come – it was time for us to finally find out what happened to the raccoon. And land he’s across the street flashbacks. True truth. Yes, it’s a rather hackneyed trick, but it works. You literally feel all the suffering on yourself!
The level of tension is constantly jumping, this is a real emotional swing, which James Gunn rides us. For 2.5 hours of timing, the viewer is allowed to feel the whole range of emotions: from joy to despondency, from sitting to disgust. And these are not fake feelings, but real ones.
This is the most accurate film from the last phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During the 4th and 5th phase in Europe there are quite a large number of films, but really literate only a slight use.
The fourth phase of the MCU started with the disastrous Black Widow and The Eternals, swept through Wanda Vision and Loki, and showed off the good films Doctor Strange 2 and Shang-Chi. Basically, at this action, the studio made a supply on the plots, relegating the big film adaptation to the background. And this negatively affected the main line of films, which sank a lot in quality.
The beginning of the fifth phase also did not work out. We were met by Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, which turned out to be a rather mediocre, if beautiful film. We were briefly introduced to the new main villain of this phase and forgot about it.
In the new Guardians, James Gunn decided get rid of a series of failures and just completion of your creation within the cinematic universe. And it became possible. He was able to bring up important themes of loss, friendship, empathy, and more, while completely distancing himself from Marvel.
Yes, yes, this film can be safely considered a full-fledged one, used from the main timeline, because there is no emphasis on this at all. This is a standalone work that can live outside of Marvel.
And because of this, it looks great from start to finish. Unlike the same “Quantomania”, they do not overload with unnecessary details, they focus only on the necessary.
Looks amazing
Here it is worth once again to say thanks to the bosses of Marvel, who allocate record budgets for projects.
It seems that Gann had no limit at all. Any deviations, whether space or chamber on ships and on earth, occur fantastically. Here, perhaps best choreography in a series. Many of the effects are rich and incredibly dynamic, sometimes I even felt myself being hit on my face.
The graphics are excellent, even the painted animals (of which there are a lot) The screen is photorealistic. They are almost indistinguishable from others.
Operators also do not get money in vain. Many of the scenes are amazingly shot., the authors catch amazing and spectacular shots. And one of the action scenes was shot in doubles, and it just grabbed the brain – how long they rehearsed it alone.
Well, it sweetens everything. great selection of soundtracks. However, this has always been the case in this franchise. Here you have Radiohead, and Faith No More, and Alice Cooper, and even the Beastie Boys. You literally get genre enjoyment.
This is how to say goodbye
“Guardians of the Galaxy: Part 3” is an incredibly beautiful, soulful and dynamic movie. You will not notice how 2.5 hours pass. And this is a rarity, both for films in general, and for Marvel films in particular.
James Gunn was able to make a great film and say goodbye to his favorite characters with dignity. Perhaps we will see them again sometime, but certainly not in the near future. Or maybe not all.
Be sure to watch the two scenes after the credits. It gives an idea of what to expect in the future.
