For several years now, every summer I have been arranging a stress test for my iPhone, namely: when I go to the city on an electric scooter, I always attach my smartphone to the holder on the steering wheel in order to quickly build routes and hold the remote control.

Well, what, even in the iPhone 13 advertisement, the courier delivered goods with an iPhone according to the rules of his moped. According to the video, the smartphone is not afraid of shaking and rain, a real navigator.

Well, here I usually have my iPhone 13 Pro Max in about the same way. But when it rains, I put it in my pocket.

Thus, I skated last summer, and already this season I began to notice work in the main camera. Which? It doesn’t focus on objects!

But Apple warned

Increasingly, photos taken with my iPhone are out of focus. I definitely did not drop my gadget once, did not throw it, no physical impact.

And then I remembered that in 2022, Apple itself officially warned that users should not install the iPhone on scooters and motorcycles, otherwise there may be problems with the camera.

To the point: Apple asked not to mount the iPhone on scooters and motorcycles, otherwise the camera broke

Wait, how about advertisingThe courier over the cobblestones is shaking with an iPhone according to the rule… Eh.

After some searching, I found that press release. That’s right: it is written in black and white that the movement from a running engine in scooters or motorcycles can break the camera.

The camera modules in the iPhone use a system of optical absorption and closed circuit magnetic sensors. Unfortunately, they are prone to the influence of low-frequency vibrations. So the company advises not to mount the device on the steering wheel to avoid problems.

I did not take this warning seriously, and here is the deplorable result. It seems that the camera in my iPhone but is slowly dying.

How to avoid possible problems

Today, almost all kicksharing scooters are equipped with a smartphone holder. This accessory is literally for everyone.

But if you have an iPhone, refrain from using it according to your consequences. Otherwise, sooner or later your camera will also start to work unstable.

Personally for myself, I solved the problem simply: a simple used smartphone bought on an android, on which Yandex.Maps, inserted it once into the holder on my rule, and I don’t take it off anymore. Even if it is stolen during some kind of stop, it will not be as pathetic as if there was an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a terabyte of memory.

Better yet, don’t use gadgets at all when you’re driving a vehicle capable of going over 20 km/h. If you need to look at something on your smartphone, stop, take it out of your pocket and look. Take care of yourself and those around you.
