Block and report someone on Discord: this is how it works

Discord is a popular messaging service among people who love games, anime, LEGO, music, YouTube and much more. It is an easy-to-use platform, but despite this, it sometimes takes some time to find certain functions.

When you are on a laptop or desktop and using the program, you block someone as follows. You can find the blocking option on the problem person’s profile.

• Click on the name of the person you want to block.
• Then click on the avatar (circular profile picture).
• Now a new window will open where you click on the three dots on the right.
• You will now have instant access to the blocking function. Press that and you’re done.

Are you on your smartphone when you want to block someone? No problem. The path to the blocking function is slightly shorter in this case. Tap the person’s name, and then select all three dots on the screen. Even then tap the block function.

Discord handles the blocking immediately and in the future hides any messages the person left on servers where you are both active. You can still read these messages if you want, but you have to use a dropdown and select the option.

Also, that person can no longer send you messages or friend invitations. If you are friends on the platform, Discord will automatically disconnect this connection.

Please note that the blocked user can see your messages on shared servers.

Reporting such a person to Discord may also help. So they can keep an eye on someone out there and follow someone when they create a new account and then they can make your life miserable again.
