Last Thursday (1), Motorola announced the launch of its new line of folding mobile phones. Already this Monday (5), a few days after the revelation, the company announced that the Razr 40 Ultra is available for sale in Brazil.
Starting June 15, consumers will be able to purchase the Razr 40 Ultra. On the other hand, the traditional Razr 40 is expected to launch “in the coming weeks”, but still no specific date has been announced. The manufacturer also did not reveal the prices of the new generation for the country.
The Razr 40 Ultra model has a larger external display as a major difference. With this, the user can use complete applications such as Google Maps and WhatsApp, but also control music applications and even navigate the system.
Another big difference of this new 3.6 inch screen is that it allows the user to use the main cameras with full preview. In this way, the mobile has a tendency to take pictures and film from different angles, but facilitate the work of the mobile phone when it comes to using the main sensors of the mobile phone.
Technically speaking, the screen has a 1:1 aspect ratio, AMOLED technology, high resolution (1066 x 1056p), HDR10+, 144 Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1,100 nits. The internal screen with anti-crease is 6.9″ and pOLED technology plus 165 Hz refresh rate, up to 1,400 nits brightness and FHD+ resolution (2650 x 1080p).
Trust the design and hardware of the foldable PC
Motorola is betting on a more attractive design for the new Razr 40 series, so much so that the back of the mobile is made of a textured material called vegan leather (in all base models and in some Ultra colours). It’s also IP52 certified against splashes and thinner edges in the main screen area.
On the outside, the big screen is in tune with the two camera lenses and the LED flash. The colors of the Razr 40 Ultra are Black, Light Blue and Pantone’s 2023 Color of the Year, Viva Magenta (Red). In the case of the Razr 40, the external display measures 1.5″ and has a 120Hz refresh rate.
It brings ultra hardware, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, Android 13, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. As for the Razr 40, its datasheet includes the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
There is also a difference in battery capacity of the two. The Razr 40 Ultra has 3,800 mAh, while the Razr 40 has 4,200 mAh. Charging for both supports up to 30W of wired power or up to 5W of wireless power. But both bring a 33W charger in the box.
